MUMBAI: A dispute over construction of a set at

Film City

led to a clash between two contractors and their workers at

Goregaon

East on Monday. The

Aarey Colony

police have registered a case of attempted murder and arrested three people.

"A set depicting a royal palace had to be constructed for shooting a television show. A dispute arose between the two parties as to which one of them had been contracted for the construction," said an officer from the Aarey Colony police. Around 2.30pm on Monday, the police were informed that both parties had clashed. The men were carrying sticks and also rained blows on the other side.

After the police intervened and broke them up, four people were found to be injured. They were rushed to the Bal Thackeray Trauma Hospital at

Jogeshwari

Police said the duo have many past criminal offences registered against them.

"Of the four people injured, Balamurugan and Veermani, worked for Ranjit while the rest were Shetty's workers. All those injured were discharged from the hospital on Tuesday except for Balamurugan who had suffered head injuries after being struck on the head. One of Shetty's workers, Ashraf Ali, is facing arrest. But since his discharge from the hospital, he has gone into hiding," said a senior officer.
