MUMBAI: Businessmen of the Thane-Kalyan belt and also parts of Mumbai heaved a sigh of relief following the killing of notorious gangster Suresh Manchekar in a so-called police encounter.

MUMBAI: Businessmen of the Thane-Kalyan belt and also parts of Mumbai heaved a sigh of relief following the killing of notorious gangster Suresh Manchekar in a so-called police encounter. Assistant inspector Ravindra Angre and his team killed Manchakar in Kolhapur on August 15.
Mr Angre said" this was his `independence day gift to the people. Manchekar, a former associate of NRI don Guru Satam, specialised in extortions.
