MUMBAI: The police on Thursday filed a chargesheet in a special MCOCA court in the murder case of alleged diesel smuggler Sayyed Ali Madar alias
Chand who was shot dead on September 15.
The chargesheet showed nine arrested accused, including a local political leader, Mohammad Ali, who contested the 2009 Lok Sabha elections from Mumbai South on a BSP ticket.
Gangster Chota Shakeel has also been named as a wanted. According to the police, Ali paid Shakeel Rs 6 lakh to kill rival Chand. The accused have been booked under several sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), including murder and criminal conspiracy. Two sharp shooters from UP were also arrested.
