MUMBAI: Residents of Campa Cola approached the Supreme Court on Tuesday seeking a review of the previous order and also a recall of its earlier judgment asking them to vacate illegal flats by May 31.
The apex court has asked the residents to give reasons for why their review petition should be admitted by January 6 and for review plea by January 20 .
“We have submitted the reasons why we are demanding review and recall of the judgment. If the court is satisfied with our reasons, then it will admit our plea,” said Ajay Mehta, a resident of the building.
On Monday, the residents said they had found some letters and internal communiqués between the departments which revealed that senior civic officials had decided to regularize the illegal floors by charging a penalty of Rs 11 lakh. The SC has asked residents to vacate the illegal 92 flats.
