Businessman held in Rs 22 crore CGST fraud in Mumbai

The Central Goods and Service Tax (CGST) department has arrested a businessman in the alleged availment of Input Tax Credit (ITC) to the tune of Rs 21.74 crore.

MUMBAI: The Central Goods and Service Tax (CGST) department has arrested a businessman in the alleged availment of Input Tax Credit (ITC) to the tune of Rs 21.74 crore. The CGST South Mumbai unit has arrested Girish Hastimal Jain, a resident of Khetwadi in South Mumbai, under the provision of CGST 2017 Act. Jain was arrested on Tuesday. The sessions court had rejected his anticipatory bail in January this year.
