Breakaway faction says MIM selling Indian Muslims

MUMBAI: Majlis Bachao Tehreek (

Save Majlis

Movement), a party created after breaking away from Majlis-e-Ittihadul Muslimeen (MIM) 25 years ago, has accused MIM leaders of “selling Indian

Muslims

.”

Calling MIM “Owaisi Private Ltd” run by Owaisi brothers (Asaduddin Owaisi and Akbaruddin Owaisi), Tehreek’s spokesperson Amjadullah Khan appealed to city Muslims against supporting MIM candidates in the upcoming BMC polls.

“My father Asad Ullah Kh-an was MIM legislator for over two decades but was suspended by Sultan Salahuddin Owaisi (the Owaisi brothers’ father) for asking whether he had entered a secret deal with former Prime Minister P V Narasimha Rao to weaken the Babri Masjid Movement,” said Khan.

MIM legislator Waris Pathan said: “Amjadullah Khan has no standing in the community. They have lost in the last civic elections in Hyderabad. And here also, Muslims will reject their baseless allegations.”
