, an accused in the 2018
Elgar Parishad
case, to surrender and return to prison, following a six month interim medical bail. But the HC also posted for hearing to November 29 his plea to extend the bail by four months on grounds of deteriorating health.

Senior counsel Anand Grover submitted before a bench of Justices

and Sarang Kotwal an affidavit which said that Rao was hospitalized between November 6 and 16 for some medical procedures and sought an extension of his bail. The bench asked him to file a substantive petition fresh for such an extension by November 29 when it would be heard.
National Investigation Agency (NIA) counsel
Sandesh Patil objecting to the private hospital report sought orders from court to have Rao examined by the State-run JJ hospital but when it was pointed out the
Telugu
poet, accused in the case, of being an alleged Maoist. The bench noted that Rao was earlier in Nanavati hospital, a private hospital, on court orders and examined there and directed that he be examined again by its doctors.
