BMC names chowk in Jogeshwari after former cricketer Ajit Wadekar

Mumbai: The BMC on Sunday inaugurated a chowk named after former cricketer late Ajit Wadekar in Jogeshwari (W). The proposal to name the chowk after Wadekar was moved by local Shiv Sena corporator Raju Pednekar. “I’m very happy and thankful to them for this gesture. I was very surprised when I was told about this. I’m pleasantly surprised by the way small cricket clubs of Mumbai have honoured him,” said Rekha Wadekar, wife of Ajit Wadekar.TNN
