BMC elections: Congress demands fresh delimitation of civic wards

MUMBAI: Congress has demanded

fresh delimitation

of

electoral wards

ahead of the 2022 BMC elections alleging that delimitation or redrawing of ward boundaries was done in 2017 to favour the BJP.

In a letter to the CM, Congress corporator and opposition leader in the BMC, Ravi Raja, has alleged the delimitation exercise favoured the BJP, which was the ruling party in the state government then.

"The BJP got 40-50 seats more than they would have if there was fair delimitation," Raja's letter states.
