MUMBAI: A 25-year-old biker died after being hit by a BEST bus in Govandi on Saturday midnight, marking the third incident involving the BEST bus in less than a week.
The victim, identified as Vindo Dikshit, was riding a two-wheeler when he collided with the bus near the Shivaji Nagar junction, suffering a head injury.
Despite being rushed to Rajawadi Hospital, he was declared dead before admission.
The bus, en route from Shivaji Nagar to Kurla, struck Dikshit’s motorcycle near the highway bus stop. The impact with the rear-right tire of the bus caused the fatal injury.
This incident follows two other deadly accidents. On Monday, seven people were killed and 43 injured in a crash on SG Barve Road, Kurla, when a BEST bus lost control and hit several vehicles and pedestrians.
On Wednesday, a 55-year-old man was killed by a BEST bus near CSMT after being knocked down by a motorbike.
