MUMBAI: A glittering inaugural ceremony of Third Eye will unfold on December 3 with actor Amitabh Bachchan and director Basu Chatterjee being honoured with the Asian Film Culture Award.
Festival director Sudhir Nandgaonkar said the legend would be given the award for promoting Indian cinema abroad through IIFA and Basu Chatterjee would be given the Satyajit Ray Award for his contribution to Indian cinema.

The Marathi film Harischandrachi Factory, which has been nominated the official Indian entry for the Best Foreign Language Film for the Oscars, will open the festival.
Over 100 feature and short films from 24 countries from Turkey to Japan will be showcased.
The festival will have a Young Marathi Cinema Section to showcase five films by young directors.
Adoor Gopalakrishnan will be the chief guest at the closing ceremony of the event and will release a book, History of Film Society Movement, by Narhari Rao.
