MUMBAI: Trust the Big B to get into the spirit of things. On his second day at work after a four-month break, shooting for his first Bhojpuri film Ganga, Amitabh Bachchan slipped easily into chatting with his co-stars in Bhojpuri while the unit made preparations for his shot. The actor known for his punctuality arrived on the dot at 11 am as promised to his producer Deepak Sawant, who also happens to be his make-up man for the past two decades and went straight to his van-but not before the other actors on the sets rushed to touch his feet.
Half an hour later, he emerged in a saffron dhoti kurta with a tilak on his forehead, ready for his first shot. Ravi Kissan, who plays the lead actor in the film, was on cloud nine. "I am working with my God. I have worked with all the top actors including Shah Rukh and Salman Khan, but with Mr Bachchan I feel like I've won an Oscar," he said, adding, "He made every actor comfortable before he shot with him or her. He was very jovial on the sets."
Nagma, who has worked with Bachchan in Ab Tumhare Hawale Watan Sathiyon and Lal Badshah said Bachchan looked younger, fresher and full of life. "I guess he needed that kind of rest." But after his health problems, Bachchan is not going to overdo it. He left the set at 6 pm with a promise to be back the next day, same place, same time.
