BEST bus driver beaten up in Juhu

MUMBAI: In an incident of road rage, a Maruti Alto (MH-02-AV-1917) driver allegedly beat up a BEST bus driver at 4.30 pm on Tuesday on Gulmohar Road, Juhu. The bus driver, Deepak Chandanshive (31), lodged a complaint with the police, who are now on the lookout for the Alto driver.
"The altercation occurred because the bus driver was not allowing the Alto driver to overtake.When the car driver finally overtook the bus, he got out of his car and a fist-fight between him and Chandanshive followed,'' said senior inspector Dipak Katkade.
Chandanshive suffered minor injuries. The Alto driver has been charged with assaulting a public servant and preventing him from carrying out his duty. Similar cases of road rage have been reported in the past few months. In May 2009, a bank executive attacked a doctor at Dadar when the latter did not allow him to overtake.
