MUMBAI: The mobile patrolling unit of the city police, known as beat marshals, recently solved two robbery cases in the Khar and Bhoiwada areas.
According to police officials, the marshals from Khar police station, Pran Khandare and Ramesh Jadhav, arrested Saeed Shaikh and Ram Pandey, who had allegedly stolen Rs 10,000 in cash from Maganlal Jagani, a ration shop owner.

“Three men attacked the shop owner Mr Jagani, who was going home after closing his shop.
Mr Jagani raised an alarm as he was being attacked. Hearing his cries, the constables who were patrolling the area chased the robbers on their motorcycle and arrested them,’’ said senior inspector Pundalik Bodhade. Their accomplice Iqbal was absconding, the police noted.
In an another incident, marshals Balu Gawli and Mahesh Ingawle arrested two pickpockets, Abdul Shaikh and Altaf Merchant, in a BEST bus.
