Thane: The
SIT probing the Badlapur sexual assault case on Wednesday took the accused to various locations, including the school and housing societies where he used to work as a sweeper, to trace his cellphone, but without any success.
SIT sources said the accused, during interrogation, claimed that the display of his mobile phone was damaged and he was not able to use it much.
The SIT has also questioned the accused's father, who took the same stand.
Sources said they have also traced the accused's second wife, who had left him 10 days after the wedding. The SIT had earlier recorded the statement of his first wife, who had claimed that the accused was a sexual pervert.
On Tuesday, the SIT had approached the special POCSO court, informing them that they still had not found the mobile phone of the accused. The court remanded the accused to police custody for two days.
