Read moreWe have declared a Maharashtra bandh on August 24 in protest against the atrocities on girls in Badlapur. If girls are not safe in school then what is the meaning of 'Mulgi Shikli, Pragati Jhali'? Last week, demonstrations were held across the country regarding the incident that happened in Bengal. The bandh we have called is not politically motivated. Just like we fight against Corona, we have to fight against the distorted mentality.
The Bombay high court has expressed shock and concern over the sexual assault on two minor girls at their school in Badlapur, stressing that there can be no compromise on the safety and security of girls. The Honorable Court criticized the school authorities for not reporting the incident and censured the police for their delays in handling the case. A division bench consisting of Justices Revati Mohite Dere and Prithviraj Chavan emphasized the need for action against school authorities who failed to report the incident despite being aware. Read moreWhat is the condition of the state? On one hand, you are providing money under Ladki Bahin Yojana and on the other hand, crime in Thane has increased by 57%. CM himself is from there. There is no security and crimes against women have increased. The entire Maharashtra is on fire today. We want the Government to provide security to women. How will Maharashtra trust Ujjwal Nikam? The institution (where the alleged crime occurred) has a BJP connection and Ujjwal Nikam contested elections against Congress recently. So, how will people trust him? If crime rate is increasing in CM's Thane, then Deputy CMs are unsuccessful and CM is a complete failure. Ground reality is that girl children are being raped, there is atrocity on women. He should take accountability and resign.

We had come here to discuss seat sharing but then we thought that we would not discuss seat sharing and instead discuss the law and order in the state after the Badlapur incident. Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Sushma Andhare, along with her supporters, sat outside the Badlapur police station. She has demanded action against Shiv Sena leader Vaman Mhatre. Andhare stated that she will not leave the police station until a case is registered against Mhatre, who is accused of making an offensive remark to a female reporter covering the Badlapur sexual abuse case.
Crime has increased in Maharashtra and this is not something I am saying but the government data mentions. Be it the Porsche case or drugs in the state. Crime against women has increased a lot in Maharashtra. The issue (Badlapur) incident is sensitive. The way it was ignored is saddening. When the people were on the roads, the government was awakened. After elections (Lok Sabha), the sisters immediately became 'Ladki' (dear) for the government and started giving Rs 1500 for the Mukhyamantri Ladki Bhin Yojana. I saw on all your channels that a woman said they do not want this government's Rs 1500, we will give them Rs 2000 but keep our sisters safe."
