THANE: Armed robbers on Sunday decamped with the life savings of an autorickshaw driver after striking at his house in Jambhli Naka.
Shankar Dangle, the driver, lives with his wife and two children in the Kansara chawl. He was sleeping after 14 hours of work when three unidentified men entered the room with choppers and a revolver.
"They kept asking us to give money.

They also threatened to sever our ears and noses. When they held a revolver close to me, my mother urged them not to harm us and instead take valuables from the cupboard," said Nandkumar, Dangle’s son.
The criminals took the woman’s gold ornaments and Dangle’s savings before fleeing. The police are looking into the matter.
