MUMBAI: Two city lawyers, Sadhana Yadav and H C Sharma, on Tuesday petitioned the Bombay high court alleging inaction by the Antop Hill police and their "refusal in registering" an FIR against its then senior inspector Nasir Kulkarni and his subordinates for an alleged "brutal and atrocious assault" on Yadav.
The duo's lawyer, Vinay Rathi, is expected to mention the petition on Wednesday for a hearing. The petition said on May 18, around 2pm, Yadav had called on the police helpline to report an alleged harassment by two persons over use of a common washroom in her office. The petition claimed that the police took Yadav to lodge her complaint against the duo, but Kulkarni and his subordinates assaulted her and kept her in "illegal detention for hours".
A written complaint was made on May 20 to the DCP zone IV, said the petition, which sought an inquiry and criminal action against the police officers.
