On February 3, between 1pm and 1.30pm, Kambli got drunk and started to use expletives. The couple's 12-year-old son tried to calm him down but in vain. Andrea stated in her complaint that she too asked Kambli to not fight needlessly and not use expletives. However, he brought a broken handle of a frying pan from the kitchen and hit Andrea with it. He then picked up a cricket bat which Andrea took away from him. She immediately left the house with her children, and went to Bhabha Hospital for treatment. Later, she approached the Bandra police. No arrest has been made .
