MUMBAI: Former Maharashtra Home Minister
Anil Deshmukh's private secretary Sanjeev Palande and personal assistant Kundan Shinde have been remanded to Enforcement Directorate (
ED) custody till July 6 in connection with an alleged money laundering case.
Sanjeev Palande and Kundan Shinde were arrested on Saturday after the central agency carried out raids against them and the NCP leader in Mumbai and Nagpur last week.
Today, their remand to ED’s custody was extended till July 6.
On Friday (June 25), the ED had raided Deshmukh's residences in Nagpur and Mumbai. Raids were conducted at five places.
After the raids, Deshmukh had said that former Mumbai police commissioner Param Bir Singh had made false allegations against him after he was removed from the post over his suspicious role in the money laundering case.
The case against the former Home Minister was registered on May 11.
Deshmukh, who resigned from his post in April following the allegations, has denied any wrongdoing.
