Ananya, Aryaman join Grasim board

Mumbai: The board of Grasim Industries on Monday inducted Kumar Mangalam Birla’s daughter Ananya Birla and son Aryaman Vikram Birla as directors. The move comes after the two were inducted last week as directors of Aditya Birla Management Corporation — the think tank of the Aditya Birla Group — and Aditya Birla Fashion & Retail. The board of Grasim Industries believes that the flagship of the $60-billion group will benefit from new age insights and business acumen of the next generation.Commenting on their appointment, group chairman Kumar Mangalam Birla said, “Grasim is at a pivotal juncture as it is on the verge of creating two new high-growth engines — paints and B2B e-commerce for building materials. Their business acumen and insights into new age businesses and consumer behaviour will be valuable for Grasim.”
