Amish Tripathi inspires young readers at VIBGYOR High School, Goregaon

MUMBAI: Internationally acclaimed author Amish Tripathi conducted an interactive workshop for the young members of the VIBGYOR High Greeders’ Club on February 27, 2016 in the school auditorium at Goregaon. It is the writer’s first visit to a school in Mumbai. The VIBGYOR High Greeders’ club hosted the renowned author in an endeavour to inspire and encourage reading enthusiasts in school.
Amish’s distinct writing style reveals religious symbolism, profound philosophy and unparalleled story-telling skills. During his session at the school, Amish regaled the curious minds by answering queries related to his books, providing valuable insights on his success, writing as a profession, his background, shared his experience as an author and a lot more. Amongst the various strategies to improve writing that were discussed, Amish also briefed students on how reading is one of the most important attributes that helps develop writing skills. Reading also widens one’s horizons and enhances knowledge about different aspects.
Commenting on the initiative, Mr. Shim Mathew, Director - Principal, VIBGYOR High School, Goregaon, said, “We are thankful to Amish for coming to our school for an engaging session with students. Beyond the regular literary programmes conducted in our school, such stimulating interactions with prominent authors always motivate our students and augment their inclination towards reading.”
While sharing his success mantra, Amish Tripathi, Author, advised the students, “Anyone opting for writing as a career should consider three important rules to succeed – always follow your heart while writing, have alternate source of income and lastly, well-thought strategy to promote your book.”

The club activities are also an extension to the study of literature which is an integral part of the curriculum at the school. The Greaders’ Club at VIBGYOR High School Goregaon celebrates the completion of 5 years of its successful journey of igniting and nurturing the love for literature among students.
