After collapse, bldg residents seek shelter from KDMC

Kalyan: Around 200 residents, who were rendered homeless in the Saptashrungi building collapse incident in Kalyan on Thursday, took out a march from Tisgaon to KDMC headquarters, seeking rehabilitation until at least monsoon ends. Residents said KDMC has arranged for them to stay temporarily in a school, but questioned how many days they would be able to stay there. They demanded that KDMC make arrangements for their accommodation, if not for long, then at least until the end of the monsoon.Six people died in the building portion collapse on Tuesday after 52 flats were sealed by KDMC. Residents said KDMC gave 10-15 minutes to take their belongings.
