“On October 21, Sehgal did not return home and hence his wife, father-in-law and another relative lodged a missing person’s complaint on October 22,” said a senior police officer.
When Sehgal’s wife returned home, she noticed that Rs 10,000 in cash was also missing. She then checked her bank account as Sehgal had her ATM card. “Sehgal’s wife is a fashion designer and has a regular income. She found out that a pre-approved loan had been granted to her. It is suspected that Sehgal completed the loan formalities online and transferred the disbursed sum of Rs 5 lakh from her account to his,” said an officer. A pre-approved loan can be availed of through netbanking. After some days, Sehgal returned home and admitted to having cheated his wife. Sehgal has acted in TV shows and in three Bollywood films.
