Karthik had denied posting the pictures and claimed her Twitter account was hacked in a move to defame her.

When asked why she was filing a complaint now, Bhagvath, who lives in Dadar, said, “Initially, I tried to fix the problem on my own, but failed. The morphed pictures have led to character assassination. Finally, I got in touch with my lawyer Vishal Saxena who filed the application.”

Saxena said, “The case is already being investigated in Chennai after Karthik complained that someone had hacked into her account and uploaded the morphed pictures.”

A BKC cyber police officer confirmed that they have received an application from Bhagvath. “We will forward the application to Twitter and ask it to remove the images,” added the police officer
