Abducted businessman’s body found

NAVI MUMBAI: The body of the owner of a private steel company in Raigad district, abducted from his car by unidentified people, was found with bullet injuries on the neck and chest along the Khopoli-Pali Road in Khalapur taluka on Wednesday morning.
Police officials said the motive behind the abduction of Ghatkopar resident Ashish Bansal (40) is not yet clear, but they are questioning friends, business associates and his driver, who was the sole eye-witness to the abduction.
Raigad SP R D Shinde, said, “The victim’s driver said their car was forcibly stopped by another vehicle on the Mumbai-Pune Expressway on Tuesday evening, Bansal was pulled out and put in the other car.’’ Shinde added the victim’s driver was then taken to another unknown location and was traced after a few hours in Kharghar. Bansal’s car was later found abandoned at Panvel.
