52-year-old arrested for molesting minor

MUMBAI: The JJ Marg police arrested a 52-year-old unemployed man who allegedly molested a five-year-old girl after her parents registered a complaint on Monday.
The accused Mohamed Usman Kamani and the victim are residents of Gogari Mohalla in south Mumbai. According to the police, the accused was known to the victim's family and he would often visit them along with victim's paternal uncle.
The incident took place on Ocotober 19 when Kamani under the pretext of buying the victim a chocolate, took her to a secluded spot, allegedly undressed her and kissed. Following this, the accused left the victim back to her residence. "It was only on Monday that the victim narrated the incident to her parents following which they approached us. We have registered the accused under section 354 (outraging the modesty of a woman) of the Indian Penal Code," said senior inspector S Surve of JJ Marg police station .
