Mumbai: The social media monitoring and analysis unit of Maharashtra Cyber Cell is removing ‘communal’ posts ever since the controversial remarks by

Nupur Sharma about Prophet Mohammed. The cell has cracked the whip on social media sites and is identifying and deleting communal posts. The cell has issued 400-plus notices this year to users.
On an average, the cell is coming across 50 such hatred communal posts which are deleted.
The team that works under special inspector general (Maharashtra Cyber) Yashasvi Yadav deleted accounts of such users. They have also sent notices to the inbox of user under Section 149 (to prevent cognizable offences) of the Criminal Procedure Code (Cr PC). tnn
