Aahanas parents were separated soon after her birth, and her father, Manish Mishra, lives in Delhi. "Aahana has been depressed, and has been missing her mother since October 16 when Anindita did not return home. Doctors are doing their best for the child," said Aahana's grandmother Poornima Goswami.
Aahana was admitted to the ICU of MGM Hospital, Vashi, with serious medical complications. Goswami, who expressed gratitude towards the hospital authorities for providing free treatment, said Aahana was suffering from lung congestion, high fever, painful joints, breathlessness and depression.
Singer Sonu Niigaam and numerologist Sanjay B Jumaani are among those who visited Aahana at the hospital. "A lot of people, including celebrities, have come forward to help, and we are very grateful. I only hope Aahana can get over her mothers loss," said a worried Goswami, while waiting outside the ICU.
Last week, Goswami had decided to move with Aahana to Ranchi, where living and medical care would be more affordable. But for now, they are staying put in Navi Mumbai. "What Aahana needs right now is a round-the-clock specialist nurse who can do physiotherapy. Actor Mithun Chakraborty is providing financial assistance, and plans to talk to the senior management at Reliance about Aahana," said Jumaani.
Jacob Pinto, who killed Anindita Mishra, is in judicial custody while Navi Mumbai police prepare the chargesheet.
