MUMBAI: Five persons were arrested by the crime branch on Thursday for allegedly accepting bets for the one-day cricket series between India and West Indies.

MUMBAI: Five persons were arrested by the crime branch on Thursday for allegedly accepting bets for the one-day cricket series between India and West Indies.
They are Devendra Kothari (25), Vikram Solanki (28), Srinivas Jaju (41), Sunil Pujari (34) and Ramesh Pujari (29). They were produced in the Esplanade court and remanded to police custody till June 4.
The police raided a flat on the fourth floor of Yogishri building, Yogi Nagar, Borivli late on Wednesday night and found the five persons allegedly accepting bets on the phone.

The police recovered a laptop computer, TV sets and telephones, valued at Rs 2 lakh.
