4 IAS officers to relieve doctors of administrative work
MUMBAI: Four bureaucrats have been appointed to handle administrative tasks at five public hospitals so that doctors can focus on work related to medical care. IAS officers Madan Nagargoje and Ajit Patil will handle administrative affairs at Nair and KEM hospitals respectively while Balaji Manjule will take care of Sion hospital. Sushil Khodwekar will look after two state-run hospitals — J J and G T.Officials said it will reduce the burden on deans and doctors who can focus on treatment. “Many tasks at hospitals don’t need time or effort of deans or doctors,” said another officer.
