Mumbai: The Sakinaka police on Wednesday arrested four men for sexually assaulting a 22-year-old woman for over two hours. They later left her on the road, after threatening her.
The police are searching for two more accused. The survivor called her friend, who alerted the police control room, and got Wasim Ahmed, Nadeem Mohammed, Mohammed Muzzamil and Mehboob Khan arrested near Hari Masjid in Sakinaka.
The survivor said she was taking an auto from Malad to her Santacruz residence when the incident occurred. Deputy commissioner of police (Zone X) Vinayak Deshmukh said they were probing the case.
“A case has been registered based on the survivor’s complaint but there are loopholes. Sometimes she says she took an auto from Malad, and sometimes from Andheri. She also claimed that she does not know how she reached the spot,” said senior inspector Avinash Dharmadhikari. A case of gangrape and assault was registered.
