4 civic clerks suspended

Mumbai: Four Vasai-Virar Municipal Corporation clerks holding additional charge of assistant municipal commissioners have been suspended for allowing illegal construction and misleading their superiors. Prakash Jadhav, Mohan Sankhe, Pradeep Aavdekar and Ganesh Patil were given the mandate to control mushrooming illegal structures in Nalasopara.
In a letter issued to the officers on Monday, deputy municipal commissioner Aziz Shaikh said the four had allowed illegal constructions on government land and reserved plots.
The officers allowed structures to come up on no-development zones too.
