3 killed after speeding motorcycle hits pedestrian at Marine Drive in Mumbai
MUMBAI: At least three people, including a pedestrian, a young man and his girlfriend, died after a speeding motorcycle hit a pedestrian on the Marine Drive stretch in South Mumbai on Monday morning. The incident occurred around 5.45 am when a bike moving northbound on N S Road hit a middle-aged man who was crossing near the Parsi Gymkhana junction. The impact threw the rider and the pillion rider off the vehicle, leaving all three critically injured. All of them were rushed to GT Hospital, where doctors declared them dead. The deceased pedestrian was a resident of the Gamdevi area. The biker has been identified as Krishna Desai (19), a Mulund resident. Police said Krishna had celebrated his birthday on Sunday with friends, cut a cake, and returned home around 11 pm. He later told his father he was going out for dinner and took money before heading out. He was riding the bike with his girlfriend when the accident took place. The woman pillion rider also died in the crash. Her identity is yet to be officially confirmed. Family members said they did not know who she was. Krishna’s father is involved in the freight and forwarding business. He also has an elder sister.
