of forest was damaged in a fire at the

Mulund

end of

Sanjay Gandhi National Park

(SGNP), close to

Yogi Hill area

, around 6 pm on Tuesday. It was contained after about two hours.

Anwar Ahmed said: “The exact assessment of the damage will be known only on Wednesday. The fire had spread due to the presence of a huge quantity of dried leaves.” He said no animals were affected as they had fled to safer areas.
