2nd arrest in teen harassment case

The Bhandup police arrested one more person in connection with a harassment case.
On January 4, a teenager was harassed by a group of youths after she spurned advances made by one of them. An accused, Arvind Gupta, was arrested in the case on Thursday. The police have now arrested his aide, Sonu Singh, while the third accomplice, Pintu Singh, is absconding. The 16-year-old victim (16), a second-year junior college student, had registering a complaint against the accused.Gupta and his friends are college dropouts and reside at Hanuman Tekdi in Bhandup (W).
According to the victim, the accused misbehaved with her ever since she spurned Gupta's advances.On January 4, Gupta caught hold of her hand in the middle of the road in broad daylight. He asked his friends to abuse her and pass lewd comments till she responded to his advances. The incident took place in front of several local residents but none dared to come forward to her rescue.
Gupta and Sonu were produced before a local court and released on bail.
The police suspect that Pintu has fled to his hometown.
