A sole breadwinner for his family and a resident of Golibar Nagar in Ghatkopar, Rathod had been in this line of work for several years. His younger sister and brother were inconsolable when the doctors at Rajawadi Hospital pronounced him dead.

"He was very dedicated towards his work. Come rain or shine, he would go out to deliver medicines," said his close friend Milind Kawle. Kawle mentioned that the injured friend managed to call their office to report the accident. "The family was hoping he had survived with injuries but later they found out he was among the deceased," said Kawle.
