MUMBAI: The citys quest for helipads, which got a leg-up after the 26/11 attacks, seems to have progressed substantially with a techno-economic and financial feasibility report ready on a heliport in south Mumbai and three other helipads in the city and in Navi Mumbai.
The report on the proposed heliportlikely to have five helipadsat Nariman Point and three touchdown pads in Cuffe Parade (near the Backbay bus depot), near Lilavati Hospital in Bandra and another in Nerul off Palm Beach Road, will be handed over to the government on July 13.
Mumbaikars can expect to fly down to Nariman Point in a couple of years and land on a T-shaped heliport jutting into the sealike the one in downtown Manhattanat a site near the Oberoi hotel.
