NAVI MUMBAI: One Pune resident was killed and fiver others were hurt, after a truck rammed into the car they were travelling in on the Mumbai-Pune Expresway around 1.15 am on Friday. The youths were headed to Alibaug for a picnic when the accident took place close to Adoshi village near Khopoli exit.
The deceased, Anand Shinde (22), was a resident of Bhosalewadi, Pune.
The injured are Akshay Sakat (23), Nitin Namdev Shinde (24), Raj Doke (18), Salman Sayyad (24) and Sachin Kamble (30), all from Pune. The police has registered a case of rash and negligent driving causing death against the unidentified truck driver. The IRB agency’s ambulance rushed the injured to Khopoli municipal hospital.
