MUMBAI: A 30-year-old man was killed and another injured after a car parking lift collapsed into a 7-metre-deep pit at a residential high-rise in Borivali West on Saturday morning.
The incident occurred around 11.08am at Om Prathamesh Building, a 21-storey tower on Link Road. According to the Mumbai Fire Brigade, the two men were trapped beneath the collapsed lift platform and were pulled out by fire personnel.
Both were rushed to BDBA Shatabdi Hospital in a police van. Shubham Madamlal Dhuri (30) was declared brought dead, while 45-year-old Sunjeet Yadav, who suffered a head injury, was referred for a CT scan.
Police and fire officials are probing the cause of the collapse.
