MEERUT: Upset with his younger sister’s “behaviour”, a 14-year-old boy strangled the 7-year-old with a scarf in Baghpat and later dumped her body.
The minor was held by police with the help of CCTV cameras on Thursday and charged under IPC section 302 (murder).
SHO of Binauli, MP Singh, said, “The boy was upset with his sister as she used to often make ‘fake’ complaints to the parents, saying she was being beaten by her brother. For that, the minor would often be scolded.” Singh added: “On Wednesday, he planned to teach his sister a lesson and executed the plan when they were going for studies.
He took his sister to a secluded place, strangled her, and dumped the body. The accused went to the crime scene every 10 minutes, which was caught on CCTV camera.” The parents initially suspected that their daughter was kidnapped and filed a police complaint, following which an FIR was registered under IPC section 363 (kidnapping). to mislead the investigation, the boy narrated a story to his father, that they were on their way to a local madrassa when his sister left as she was feeling uneasy.
Police scanned CCTV footage and cracked the case. “The accused will be sent to a juvenile home. Both the kids were adopted,” the SHO further said.
