Two offer 30-year-old help, gangrape her in Badaun
Bareilly: Two men have been booked for allegedly raping a 30-year-old woman at an isolated spot near Sisraka railway halt under Faizganj Behta police station in Badaun district on the intervening night of Friday and Saturday.
Police said the woman and her husband had a spat over a petty issue and later, her husband left the house. She went to Sisraka railway halt looking for him when two men allegedly accosted her, took her to an isolated place and raped her. An FIR has been lodged against them under the IPC sections 376 D (gang-rape), 323 (voluntarily causing hurt) and 506 (criminal intimidation). One accused is a vendor at railway halt while the other is token porter.
Giving details, Faizganj Behta police station house officer Rajesh Kumar said, “According to the rape survivor at around 11:45 pm on Friday, she and her husband fought over some a petty issue. In a fit of rage, her husband beat her up and left the house. The woman thought that he had gone to Sisraka village’s railway halt. She went out of the house searching for him. On the way, she met two men Naresh Kumar, 25, a vendor, and Amar Singh, 35, who works as a token porter at the railway halt. Both lured her to a lonely spot, saying they would help her look for her husband at the railway halt. They then allegedly took turns to rape her. They fled after raping her. She went to the police station and lodged a complaint against the duo. Both accused had threatened to kill her if she dared to tell anyone about the rape.”
The SHO added that police were conducting raids to nab the culprits who were absconding. “We have lodged an FIR against both accused. We have identified their hideout and will soon arrest them,” Kumar added.
