STF arrests man in double murder case in Amroha

Amroha: A joint team of Uttar Pradesh Special Task Force (STF) and police on Tuesday apprehended a man in connection with a double murder case in Amroha. The accused had a bounty of Rs 50,000 on his head, said officials. Ashok Kumar, a resident of Hapur’s Birsinghpur, was arrested from Tigri embankment area under Gajraula police station area. Gajraula circle officer (CO) Shwetabh Bhaskar said Kumar has 22 criminal cases registered against him in Bijnor, Amroha, Bulandshahar, Hapur, Ghaziabad, and Noida districts. He operated a gang since 2010 and had been booked under the Gangster Act in Noida and Hapur.In the recent incident, Anirudh Singh, 28, and his partner Ratanpal Bhati, 32, were allegedly murdered with a sickle at a farmhouse owned by Singh on Oct 9 last year. A worker at the farmhouse, Jeet Kumar, from Hapur, sustained injuries in the attack. Harveer Dabas
