on the intervening night of Thursday and Friday. The robbers then decamped with cash worth Rs 20,000 and gold and silver ornaments worth lakhs, police said.

“The incident happened on late Thursday night when Amit Kumar and his family were asleep in their home. A group of six armed men broke into their house and held the family at gun point. One of the men stood near the family and held them hostage while the others ransacked the house. According to the complainant, the robbers took Rs 20,000 in cash and some gold and silver ornaments worth lakhs,” said S K Dubey, station officer at

Partapur police station

.

“The complainant came and filed an FIR at Partapur police station on Friday, around 7:30am. We are investigating the case. However, this case has to be treated carefully. For example, the incident took place in the night on Thursday but the complainant did not come to file a complaint till Friday morning. They could have easily dialed 100 and a police van would have reached their house within minutes. All angles will be investigated. Those responsible for this will be caught soon,” Dubey said.
