MERUT: An amount of Rs1.52 crore was sanctioned for setting up firefighting equipment and a fire alarm system inside the premises of Meerut district court by the UP principal secretary Anirudh Singh on Wednesday. Rs 76 lakh was released as a first installment for the project.
“I have been instructed to inform you that Rs1.52 crore has been sanctioned for setting up of firefighting and fire alarm system in Meerut district court. As first installment, Rs 76 lakh is being released and it should be utilized by March 31, 2016,” read the government order issued by Anirudh Singh, UP principal secretary.
The letter was issued by Singh to the general registrar of Allahabad High Court who will further inform the district judge and district magistrate in Meerut.
Installation of firefighting and fire alarm equipment has been assigned to the Public Works Department.
“Before beginning with the project, technical knowledge of the same should be gained by a competent authority. The quality of the work will be checked by the district judge and decisions will be taken as he seems fit,” read the government order.
