Meerut: A retired Indian Airforce employee in Baghpat has put up a ‘house on sale’ poster outside his house over pollution caused by a generator that has been stationed at a movie hall.
The the movie hall belongs to the representative of Baghpat MP and MoS HRD minister Satyapal Singh. The municipal corporation has assured action in the matter.
Pawan Singh, who had retired from Indian Airforce as junior warrant officer, said, “On December 5, Vishnu Cinema Hall was inaugurated in Baghpat just opposite my house.
The generator is placed in a manner the smoke coming from it enters my house. Also, due to noise from the generator, it becomes difficult for us to talk inside the house. My son is preparing for competitive exams but he is hardly able to study.”
Singh has even complained to the municipal authorities but all in vain. He even complained on UP CM’s portal, however, the complaint stays pending there as well.
The movie hall in question, Vishnu Palace Cinema Hall belongs to one Bhaskar Sharma who is designated as the representative of Baghpat BJP MP and MoS HRD minister Satya Pal Singh.
When contacted, Sharma refused to talk to the press on the matter. Amit Rana, chairman, municipal corporation, Baraut, said, “I have received the complaint and the concerned officials have been asked to take action in the matter.” Asked if there was any kind of pressure from the party since Rana belonged to BJP, he said, “There is no pressure whatsoever. Irrespective of the fact to which party anybody belongs, if there is anything wrong found, action will be taken against him.”
