SULTANPUR: A 30-year-old man was axed to death in a violent clash between two groups in Bharkhari village under the Lambhua police station area. The dispute, stemming from an old rivalry between Sohanlal Giri and Ramprakash Giri, turned fatal on Monday evening.

The altercation involved the use of sticks and sharp weapons, leaving three others injured.

Circle officer Abdul Salam reported that Sohanlal Giri, Kamla Devi, Mohan Giri, and Dayashankar Giri were rushed to the hospital, where Sohanlal succumbed to his injuries.

"We have received a complaint from the victim's family and some people have been detained in connection with the incident. A detailed probe is underway," Salam said.

The police are investigating the incident that resulted in tragedy and injuries among the involved parties.
