Man Held for killing friend over loan, dismembering body into 8 pieces

Bijnor: A 30-year-old man was arrested by Gujarat police in Bijnor's Noorpur on Tuesday evening for allegedly killing his friend over a Rs 9 lakh loan, dismembering the body into eight pieces, and dumping them in a drain.The accused, Shailendra Kumar, and the victim, Sachin Chauhan, 35, worked for a private company in Bharuch, Gujarat. Both were from Bijnor and lived together in a rented house.On March 7, Sachin returned to Harpur village and attended a wedding with his wife, Parul, and their four-year-old son. He later left for Gujarat, but on March 25, when Parul tried to contact him, his phone was switched off. The next day, she called Shailendra, who gave evasive answers. Shortly after, she received a message from Sachin's phone claiming he was in Bengaluru. Around the same time, Sachin's brother, Mohit, received messages stating that Sachin had argued with his wife and wanted a divorce. The messages raised suspicion, prompting the family to travel to Gujarat.When the Sachin's family confronted Shailendra, he kept changing his statements. Sachin's family then filed a missing person report at Bharuch police station, naming Shailendra as a suspect.On March 29, body parts, including a severed head, were found in a drain in Bharuch's Bhaulao industrial area. Mohit identified his brother's Sachin hand through a tattoo on his hand. By then, Shailendra had fled but was tracked down in Noorpur, Bijnor.Noorpur SHO Ravindra Singh said Gujarat police arrested Shailendra and took him to Bharuch for further investigation.During questioning, he confessed to the murder, admitting that he had taken a Rs 9 lakh loan in Sachin's name and killed him when Sachin pressured him to repay it. He dismembered the body into eight pieces and dumped them in a drain.
