Meerut: A former tehsildar and resident of Shamli, Narender Sharma, 70, has accused his son Arun Sharma, brother Vinod Sharma, and relative Vipin Sharma of attacking him and throwing him out of his house because he married a 44-year-old woman.
A complaint was filed on December 16 and the three accused have been booked under sections 442 (house trespass), 380 (theft), 323 (voluntarily causing hurt), and 504 (intentional insult, provocation) of the IPC.

However, Narender says the police have not taken any action yet to give him his house back. Narender is a widower whose previous wife died nine years ago. His current wife is a divorcee. He said, "My family never took care of me. This is despite me having transferred my house to my daughter-in-law. After they got to know of my marriage, they took away all of my belongings, including my two-wheeler, and threw me out of the house." He was living alone in an 11-room house, which is in his daughter-in-law's name, and had employed a number of assistants to help him cope with age-related issues. "Most of them stole my belongings or money. Around five months ago, I appointed Parul Tyagi, a caretaker. She was honest and took good care of me. We became close and decided to marry," Narender told TOI.
His wife, who lives in Muzaffarnagar, has not moved in with him yet. She was visiting him frequently after they got married on November 13 last year.
"My family had been pressuring me ever since then to get rid of her. They even threatened her. After I was thrown out of my house, I started living with a friend in Shamli," Narender said. He added that he doesn't want to move to Muzaffarnagar to Parul's home as he feels that by doing so, he'll lose his home forever.
Meanwhile, his son Arun refuted all allegations. "How do you explain a 44-year-old woman marrying a 70-year-old man? He gets a handsome post-retirement pension and lives alone in a huge house, enough for a woman to lay a honey trap. We are just trying to protect our father and he, on the other hand, is maligning our reputation," he said.
Superintendent of police of Shamli, Sukriti Madhav, said, "The case has recently come to my notice. If the incident is true, the senior citizen has full rights to marry whoever he wants. We will reinstate him to his house. I'll form a team to do so and strict action will be taken against the accused."
