BIJNOR: A 25-year-old woman and two members of her family were arrested for allegedly abducting a 26-year-old man in order to get him forcibly married without his consent to her.
Ankur Singh, a stenographer at the civil judge’s office, was on his way to work when his motorbike was intercepted by two men who then whisked him away at gunpoint.
Soon, a car arrived and took Ankur to Najibabad, 70 km away, where the “groom” was to be “prepared for marriage” at a nearby temple.
But someone informed the cops about the “abduction” and police swung into action. Being a civil judge’s stenographer perhaps helped and the hapless man was rescued after a chase of four hours.
